READ THE RULES
Do you know the rules of the social media sites you use?
- Creating pseudo identities?
- Age restrictions?
- Messaging people you don’t know?
- Content you can and can’t upload?
APPLY THE ‘THINK-CHECK-SHARE’ METHOD
Think before you post. Double-check the content. Then share.

Social media is a public space. Be aware of your words and actions.

Avoid commenting or posting when you’re feeling angry.

Get rid of any negative posts and pictures – whether you’ve posted them or been tagged in them.

CLAUSE 1 – Don’t say things that can get you into trouble. Hate speech, threats or speaking badly about your workplace can have legal consequences.

How to Explore the Jungle Safely
- Use a different password for each social media site you use.
- Password protect your device if you have social media apps on your phone.
- Be selective with friend requests.
- If you don’t know them, don’t friend them.
- It could be a fake account.
- Click with caution. Doesn’t sound like something your friend would post? Their account may be hacked.
- Don’t reveal personal information such as your home address, financial information or phone number.
- Customise your privacy settings to control who sees what.
- Install antivirus software on your computer as an added safeguard.
- Always log off when you are done.

Absolutely! Share Sappi content as often as you want.
Spotted fake news or a scam involving Sappi in your newsfeed?
Report it to the regional communications manager straight away.
The Don’ts
Someone made a negative comment?
Don’t respond; report it to our regional communications managers who will attend to it.
Can you post or share Sappi information?
Nothing sensitive or confidential should ever be shared.
Is it okay to post pics of Sappi machinery or property?
It depends. You will need to get permission first.
Have something to say?
Don’t speak on Sappiās behalf unless you have permission to do so.
